Blog Session 3: A country to visit

I believe, like every other person in the world, I think, that if I had the chance, I would visit every country that exists. But as that option remains unavailable because of restrictions in frontiers and money, we all have to choose one or a couple we would like to go and actually could.
Recently, Japan has been all over my life. I've read a book written by Banana Yoshimoto about a Japanese girl who loses both parents, her grandmother and her boyfriend, so she is all alone in the world. I've been listening contemporary Japanese music like "Cornelius". I've seen movies made by the most important animation film studio: Ghibli. And, the last thing that introduced Japan strongly into my latest thoughts was Sofia Coppola's film "Lost in translation". Tokyo made me curious, is like the city was calling me.
I'm intrigued about the sound of the city, that I imagine so loud but at the same time so constant that I figure it would be like silence. Like when you get used to something so you don't feel it anymore. Although, the eternal contrast of the city. The quietness of the temples, the remains of an ancient Japan with gardens and monks against the chaos of it, with so many people and so many lights and technology that will probably be overwhelming.
I would like to walk the entire city and travel in those incredible fast trains. I would ate all the sushi that appears eatable, because sadly I'm not up for really strange food. I would visit every temple, every garden, every park. I would go visit the Contemporary Art museums, because the Japanese artists appear to be concise and sober to express great emotions. I believe that's a rare thing, a deliberated contrast.
I don't know if I would live there, probably for a few years, but I certainly would study and work there so I could learn Japanese. I would stay long enough to dress a Kimono, sleep in a futon and have a cat.
